Terecia has been reading blogs and forums about travelling in preparation for this trip. One thing that she read was about how appreciative airline staff are if you are kind to them, dealing with the public in a closed environment is a thankless job quite often. She put together small gift baskets of candy and starbucks gift cards for the crew on our flights. It was so well received that staff on the shorter flight gave her a thank you card with a pair of delta wings and one of pilots on the long flight came back to thank her personnally for the gesture.
Flying to Paris was an adventure in itself. Everything was normal as expected until we left the plane in Paris. There are little things that are different, like the shapes and graphics on most of the signs to go from area to area in the airport were confusing. Most of them have english and other languages but sign colors not all the same. Everyone we encountered were very helpful and kind though. Our Driver spoke VERY little english but we managed ok and he tried to show us some points of interest as we went by them. I know where the 2024 olympic games will be held, where the Paris courthouse is, and where an asylum is. We also drove next to the Arc de triomphe.
Here are a few pictures of the tower as the lights come on…
Here are some pictures of the food…
And this will conclude day 1.
